EMS

St. Matthews Fire & EMS currently deploys four 24-hour advanced life support (ALS) ambulances, two reserve ambulances, and 3 advanced life support (ALS) fire companies. St. Matthews Fire & EMS employs paramedics who are deployed on Advanced Life Support Ambulances. St. Matthews Fire & EMS also works with Louisville Metro EMS to augment the EMS system during busier times. On a daily basis, all four ambulances are staffed with paramedics.

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division of St. Matthews Fire & EMS declares to the public that paramedics, EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians), and firefighters, will strive for excellence while assuring delivery of pre-hospital care that is safe, competent, and consistent in an efficient, professional, and fiscally responsible manner.
